Presented under the auspices of the Stop TB Working Group on Diagnostics
Objective
The objective of the conference is to integrate knowledge generated through basic, translational and clinical research that can lead to novel
methods and strategies for the immunodiagnosis of tuberculosis.
The conference brings together leaders in host and pathogen biology, epidemiology, diagnostic development and use, and in basic and clinical research to
Discuss the most recent fi ndings in the biology of the pathogen and of the host immune response that are most relevant to the identifi cation of immune markers.
Review the status of fi eld studies and clinical trials that can be utilized for identification of immune biomarkers.
Discuss cutting-edge technologies that can lead to development of assay formats amenable to use in diverse settings.
Place particular attention to pediatric tuberculosis, which poses unique diagnostic challenges.
